Welcome to the Muslim Foster Network

The Muslim Foster Network is a unique support network for the Muslim community.

Creating awareness within the Muslim community and supporting potential foster carers and children in care to ensure their faith and cultural needs are met

Working in partnership with local authorities and fostering agencies to increase the number of Muslim foster cares in England.

About the Muslim Foster Network

Established in 2016, the Muslim Foster Network is a recruitment initiative that works alongside foster care services to issue guidance on supporting Muslim children.

We are committed to delivering support and direction through the early stages of the fostering journey, equipping foster carers with the education, information and resources to create a nurturing environment that allows Muslim children in care to develop their faith and identity.

What we do

Every 20 minutes another child comes into care needing a foster family. Due to the shortage of Muslim foster carers, most children need to be placed outside of their faith group.

Muslim Foster Network works with the local community, carers, national fostering agencies and local authorities to improve the chances of successful placements.

Awareness

The Muslim Foster Network takes pride in our effective community awareness program which aims to raise awareness on the need for Muslim foster carers within the UK.

Support & Advice

The Muslim Foster Network has compiled a a range of educational resources to help carers of all backgrounds to understand the needs and necessities of Muslim foster children in care.

Events & Webinars

The Muslim Foster Network has formed long-term partnerships with local authorities and foster agencies in England to provide carers with ongoing support, and hosts regular events & webinars on fostering within the Muslim community.
