Who are we?

My Foster Family is a community empowerment initiative. Our aim is to ensure the best possible
placement for children coming into foster care.

Initially conceived as a bespoke, faith-sensitive recruitment and training agency under Mercy Mission UK’s acclaimed Muslim Fostering Project, we identified greater needs across communities and now specialize in working with fostering and adoption services to support individuals from Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Refugee backgrounds to become foster and adopter carers

How to get involved

There are many ways in which people from all different backgrounds and ages can be part of Foster Friday 2020 and make a huge difference to the lives of struggling children across the UK.

Could you organise a sermon at your mosque?

We have specifically written a Jummah Khutbah on the topic of fostering and adoption which you can join mosques nationally and deliver on Foster Friday and help raise awareness of the importance of fostering and adoption within the Muslim community.

Could you, your school or madrassah organise an event or workshop?

It is really easy to get involved, we can provide you with all the assistance you need, along with marketing material to help raise awareness among your students. And you could organize an event or workshop to educate and discuss fostering and adoption within your local community.

Could you spare a few hours to volunteer?

You could become part of this special day and volunteer your time to help keep everything running smoothly on the day. Get in touch and we can tell you what volunteering opportunities we have for you.

Share the message through social media.

Can’t do any of the above, don’t worry. You could still spread the message of Foster Friday on your social media and help to generate interest and awareness about what we are doing and attend events in your area
